Objective
The class has the objective to introduce the basic knowledge of plant molecular biology of plants during growth and development.
Content
During the classes the students are presented to the following topics: the organization of nuclear, mitochondrial and plastidial genomes with enphasis on the interaction among these organelles in the plant cell; gene expression involved in growth and development of plants; molecular aspects of biotic and abiotic stress response in plants. Practical classes will accomplish experiments of gene cloning, DNA sequencing, general tools of bioinformatics and plant genetic transformation by biolistic and Agrobacterium.
