The Forest Resources graduate program was created in 1999 with the merge of two master’s degree programs of the Department of Forest Sciences: Forest Sciences, created in 1976, and Sciences and Wood Technology, created in 1991. This merger, with the support of internationally recognized professors and researchers, resulted in an increased number of professors and research areas in the program, thus becoming a well-structured program with emphasis on the study of Conservation of Natural Ecosystems, Silviculture and Forest Management and Forest Products Technology. The program has a well-established national and international reputation, with a high quality scientific production.
